Over 1000 pints in two weekends!
What a couple of weeks! Our amazing volunteer teams have put in an astonishing amount of effort preparing and successfully running the pop-up pub/cafe over the last two weekends. With over 1000 pints pulled, nearly 50 full English breakfasts served and over 200 coffees brewed, the White Horse has been buzzing - and the reaction from the local and wider community has been overwhelmingly positive.
The speed in which the good news has travelled has been especially heartening. We’ve already had many visitors from outside of the area who’ve heard positive reports about our setup and our community ethos, and it was particularly great to welcome our first US-based visitors.
Public meeting: A call for questions

We’re looking forward to meeting many of you again at the Village Hall this weekend to hear your feedback on events over the last few weeks. We’re still working on a range of operational options for the pub but we’ll be updating you fully on recent developments and finances. Thank you again to the many of you who’ve volunteered to help us staff the pup-up pub/cafe and maintain the ongoing work on the buildings and garden. Too many cooks? Not yet…
(Chefs) hats off to the wonderful cooks that have kept the delicious cakes and soup well-stocked and the food flowing from the pub kitchen over the last two weekends. We’d love to increase the number of volunteer cooks available for shifts in the kitchen, so if you have any spare time to help, please do email volunteers@backthewhitehorse.com or have a chat with Claire at the pub. And don't worry if you’re not experienced - we can train you!
