Local MP Support for the White Horse

Robert Courts, the Member of Paliament for Witney and West Oxfordshire, has sent a letter West Oxfordshire District Council referring to his concerns about the current owners unrealistic attempts to find a tenant for the pub and the suggestion that he is in the process of selling the White Horse to another developer in London.

As Robert makes clear, such a sale without first notifying the District Council and allowing a local group six months to make a bid would contravene the Localism Act. You will recall this is what happened when the previous owner first put the property up for sale in 2020. Robert also makes clear his opposition to a change of use saying “it is clearly false to claim that it is unviable to run it as a pub”.
